Mass spectrometry

Mass spectrometry is located at the Protein Laboratory of the FLI, which is associated with the Biochemistry Research Group. The Protein Laboratory is presently
equipped with a Bruker BiflexII MALDI-ToF instrument and a ThermoFinnigan LCQclassic ion-trap-ESI device. The mass spectrometric investigations are largely concentrated to analyses of proteins and peptides. Due to the actual peripherals of the equipment and the limited staff the sample number is restricted to low-throughput studies of selected topics. Measurements are mainly restricted to samples from the Research Groups of the FLI. However, the Protein Laboratory is open for collaboration with groups outside the FLI if the subjects are in accordance with the general subject of the FLI.
