Radio Chamber

Collimator

Attenuator

As of February 2005, the FLI houses a new low dose ionising radiation facility (Gammacell 40, MDS Nordion, Canada). This radiation chamber is suitable for experimental irradiation of both tissue culture samples as well as small laboratory animals (rodents) with a dose rate of approximately 1 Gy/min. Attenuators and collimators allow reduced dose rate applications as well as geometrically localized irradiation treatment.

The irradiator is available for all FLI scientists and collaborating partners upon tution and introduction by FLI radiation safety personnel.
