Age-associated diseases

The life quality of elderly individuals is affected by loss of strength and mobility, impaired neuronal coordination, memory loss, susceptibility to infections and risk of cancer. We have chosen to explore some of the most important pathways whose disturbance leads to pathologies of ageing. Our aim is to elucidate mechanisms of age-related pathogenesis, in particular how molecular changes translate into organ dysfunction.
