General Information

Doctoral Studies at the University of Jena

You find information on the doctorate exam regulations here.

PhD students need to apply first to the faculty for acceptance. The application process includes the completion of an application form. Certification and reports in the form of copies of academic degree papers (which must be certified in the case of external applicants) must be provided along with the application form, as proof of fulfilment of the prerequisites for admission. You will find the application forms on the websites of the faculties or you can get them from the LGSA coordination office.
The decision to accept or reject the application is to be given to the applicant in writing. (certificate of acceptance / Annahmebescheinigung).

With the certificate of acceptance students can apply for the enrolment as Doctoral student (Immatrikulation). Foreign students have to apply at the International Office.
(For the detailed application procedure at university please contact the LGSA Coordinator.)
